Eilen kävin tutussa paikassa eli Paraisten Lenholmenin lintutornilla. Yesterday I visited familiar place called Lenholmen, which belongs to Parainen municipality. There is a good birdwatching tower.

Nauvoon menevältä tieltä alkaa lyhyt sivutie, joka vie parkkipaikalle. Parkkipaikalta voit valita kaksi eri reittiä lintutornille. Vasen reitti vie upean tammimetsän läpi grillipaikalle ja oikea reitti vie pientä tietä suoraan samaan paikkaan. Tästä on enää muutama sata metriä lintutornille merenlahden rantaan.

From the road leading to Nauvo, there is a short side road that leads to the parking lot. From the parking lot, you can choose two different routes to the bird tower. The left route takes you through a wonderful oak forest to the barbecue place and the right route takes a small road directly to the same place. From here it is only a few hundred meters to the bird tower on the shore of the sea bay.

Itse suosin vasenta reittiä eli kuljen metsän läpi ja kuuntelen lintuja sekä paikalla laiduntavia lehmiä.

I personally prefer the left route, i.e. I walk through the forest and listen to the birds and the cows grazing there.

Yleensä lehmät näkee tällä alueella. Usually you can see the cows on this area.

Lintutorni on hyvä paikka seurata lintujen elämää merenlahdella, sillä sieltä on melko hyvä näkyvyys joka suuntaan ja toisaalta siellä on aina lintuja.

The bird tower is a good place to watch the life of birds in the sea bay, because there is a pretty good view in all directions, and on the other hand, there are always birds there.

Tällä reissulla havaintoja tuli 3 laulujoutsenta, 7 sinisorsaa, 1 tavi, 1 uuttukyyhky, 1 sepelkyyhky, 2 kurkea, 5 punajalkavikloa, 4 valkovikloa, 2 liroa, 7 naurulokkia, 1 selkälokki, 3 räyskää, 5 kalatiiraa, 2 merimetsoa, 1 harmaahaikara, 1 merikotka, 1 käpytikka, 1 nuolihaukka, 3 peippoa ja 1 keltasirkku.

Sightings on this trip included 3 whooper swan, 7 mallards, 1 teal, 1 Stock dove, 1 common wood pigeon, 2 crane, 5 common redshank, 4 common greenshank, 2 wood sandpiper, 7 black-headed gull, 1 lesser black-backed gull, 3 Caspain tern, 5 common tern, 2 great cormorant, 1 grey heron, 1 white-tailed eagle, 1 woodpecker, 1 Eurasian hobby, 3 common chaffinch and 1 yellowhammer.

Paikalle tuli hieno merikotka, joka hetken aikaa häiritsi muiden lintujen paikallaoloa. Se myös yritti kalastaa, mutta tällä kertaa ei saanut saalista.

A beautiful white-tailed eagle came to the place, which for a while disturbed the presence of other birds. It also tried to fish, but this time it did not catch a fish.

Nuolihaukka lensi aivan viereiseen puuhun noin 15 metrin päähän, mutta päätti sitten jäädä lehtien taakse minulta melkein näkymättömiin, kyllä harmitti…

An Eurasian hobby flew to the next tree about 15 meters away, but then decided to stay behind the leaves, almost invisible to me, it was a shame…

Takaisin lintutornilta palasin sitten pellon reunaa kulkevaa tietä.

Hieman ennen parkkipaikkaa kuului keltasirkun iloinen viserrys ja hetken kiikaroinnin jälkeen se löytyi läheisen puun latvasta.

A little before the parking lot, I could hear the happy chirping of a yellow hammer, and after looking through the binoculars for a while, I could find it in the top of a nearby tree.

Olipa taas mukava käydä tällä paikalla.

It was so nice to visit this place again.
